Evaluators
The trained subject-matter experts who conduct NACTE's on-site accreditation visits.
Who are NACTE Evaluators?
NACTE Evaluators are trained, subject-matter experts drawn from academia and the teacher education field who conduct the on-site component of the accreditation review. They verify, in person, that the faculty, facilities, curriculum, and governance evidence submitted by an institution genuinely reflects what is on the ground, and report their findings back to the Council to inform its accreditation decision.
Roles & Responsibilities
Every accreditation visit is carried out against the same standard of independence and rigor.
Evidence Verification
Cross-check submitted documentation — faculty records, curriculum, enrollment data — against what is observed during the visit.
Facility Assessment
Inspect classrooms, labs, libraries, and other infrastructure against national accreditation standards.
Reporting to Council
Compile an objective, evidence-based visit report that the Council uses to reach its final accreditation decision.
Evaluator Types
Team Lead
Leads the visiting team, coordinates the on-site schedule, and consolidates the final evaluation report submitted to the Council.
Member
Supports the Team Lead by reviewing assigned standards and documentation areas during the visit, contributing findings to the team's shared report.
