About NACTE
The National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education, Pakistan
Who We Are
The National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) was established in December 2006 by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, with a mandate to accredit teacher education programs offered by public and private sector universities and teacher education institutions across Pakistan.
NACTE's main focus is to serve as a national resource to accredit and certify teacher education programmes based on accreditation standards underlying the framework of the National Professional Standards for Teachers in Pakistan. It has developed a rigorous accreditation mechanism โ national accreditation standards operationalized as quality indicators, accreditation tools for gathering evidence, a data-analysis system, and decision-making procedures.
NACTE supports institutions seeking accreditation through online and face-to-face orientation meetings with faculty and administrative staff.
